I went to bed late - disappointing because I was excited to get up this morning to try out my new shoes.  But by 5:50, I just couldn't sleep any longer!  It was great.  After the 4 miles in the V5F and the 1/2 mile barefoot, I actually noticed the arch in my NB-790s while running home.  There seemed to be a strange bump in the middle of my foot!

I thought about doing the full 8 miles in the V5Fs, but decided that I didn't want to push it too hard - I'm not sure how one develops plantars fasciitis, but that is what many non-runners seem concerned about.

I just ran in my 790s for the first time. Nice minimalist shoe-so far I like it. I'll be using them on river trail while I get back up to speed. let me know if you want to run together up there sometime but I am keeping my mileage low for awhile so may not be long enough for you. Scott

allie - I love the V5Fs - I am wearing them at work right now, with my dress pants and button-up shirt!

redrooster - I've never run on the trail, stupidly, I always take the road up the canyon. I think it's because I'm a numbers guy and rely on the mile markers to track my progress... Also, I've never run with anyone - I'm not sure I want to hold anyone back.
