Today was supposed to be a long 21.6 miles.  I woke up at 4:30 so I decided to eat breakfast then go back to sleep.  Unfortunately, I was working an a computer (jailbreaking some phones) and was wide awake by the time my breakfast was gone - so I decided to do a race day simulation to figure out what I can eat/drink before a race.  By 7:00 it was raining very hard and was cold, so I kept working at the computer.  As the day went by, I got a few things done and finally decided the weather was perfect.  Unfortunately, 3 minutes from my house, my lower left calf was quite irritated, so I turned around and hobbled home.  It had been a little sore Friday between the musle and achilles, in a distinct horizantal line, but I hoped that it would be OK.  I guess I'll take a few days off.  It's too bad - I was averaging 45 miles the past 5 weeks and only needed 14.2 miles to complete the same this week.  My training has never been so consistant and the worst part is I can't think of how it got 'injured'...

STUPID INJURIES!!!!!!!!!

How are you feeling today? Are you running TOU half?

From Kelli on Mon, Aug 17, 2009 at 18:12:15 from 71.219.64.200

Stupid question, you are. But are you running it in the 5 fingers?

From Jason McK on Mon, Aug 17, 2009 at 18:23:32 from 63.255.173.99

Yeah, I'll be in the 5 fingers! My leg feels fine today, but I haven't done anything with it besides walk. Yesterday, we were playing Wii Fit and after a few ski 'jumps' I could tell it wasn't better yet...

Take care, you only have 2 weeks before that race. I am the queen of caution for everyone else....do not want to see other people having to cry themselves to sleep because they can not run. (I am kidding, I only cry during the day....)

Hey, when is the baby due?

From Jason McK on Mon, Aug 17, 2009 at 18:27:29 from 63.255.173.99

The baby was born July 27th - see my wife's blog. I guess I should update my personal info!

You need to get rid of the "and another one on the way" unless she is pregnant again! Going to check the blog.....

Okay, I am back! She is beautiful!!!! She looks absolutely perfect. And tell your wife she totally cracked me up about the Facebook stuff. I could not agree more! But I did not get the vase post, what am I missing?

Now, she needs to change the name of your family blog, too. Now you have 4 princesses!

Thanks. The vase is a long story - see http://tcmckellar.blogspot.com/2008/11/home-again.html - starting with "And here is a picture of mine and Trav's little moment of glory for the weekend."

and http://nanmckenchanted.blogspot.com/2009/08/always-thinking-of-family.html

The last time anyone saw the x-rated vase, it was on a trailer to Maryland where another brother moved last month. We're sure it made it to Indiana - but my sister in law may have dumped it when she discovered it in Indiana.
