Numbers in () are heart rates at the end of the 'lap' - preceded by average.  My average800 was 3:04.2.  I only did 6 and my rest between each was longer than it was suppose to be (average 3:12), so I don't think that this correlates to a 3:04:12 marathon time + 7 or 8 minutes, but here's hoping...

By the time I got home, I was glad I only did 6, me left knee may pay today.  I wore NB MR790s 'cause my feet are a little sore from 20 miles in VFFs (from slapping the ground the last 3-4 miles.  The shoes seem a little heavy (even though they are very light) compared to the VFFs but the softer sole makes it a little easier on my feet, but the impact seems to transfer to my knees...

nice workout. When I do this workout and when I read information about it the rest is a 400 that takes the same time as it takes too run the 800.

Hope the knee doesn't cause you any problems.

Oh, so the 600m was too much? I wondered if I could maintain this pace for 4 more - and thought I could - but if it's 400m in between, then it would be easier...

yeah, I think 400 recoveries is just about right if you are running at VO2max, 600 is probably too long. even then I tend not to run more than 7 of these at top speed. If you have free time Tuesdays you should join our USU running club for some track work, a lot easier for me when I have other people pushing me. we have been meeting at 10AM at the USU track.
